 Humble as they are I'm thrilled to see these plants that have appeared unbidden in some of the clay pots on the ledge of my bedroom window. Either the seeds were already in the soil I used or they have blown in.
 In the top photo some little plant with the daintiest of flowers has made itself at home among the woolly leaves of a Salvia sclarea. I'm not sure what this arrival is.
 The next photo shows Self-heal (Prunella vulgaris) which has happily taken over an empty pot. I wrote an entry on 28th. July about this remarkable plant which has grown across continents over millennia.
 Last but not least is a diminutive but exquisite Heartsease (Viola tricolour).
