Three good bee plants for a sunny spot at the tail end of summer, seen here in the front garden. From the top: Calamentha nepata, Sedum spectabile and Michaelmas-daises (the common name for several species of Aster which all look very similar and have naturalized in the UK from North America, particularly in great drifts alongside railway lines).
The volume of plants in flower declines from midsummer onward so the late bloomers are a boon for the bees.
